I wouldn't mind their money!
I've notcied that there have been some edits to some of my pages. Which I don't mind at all, but I'm curious about one thing. When I am copying the text directly from the game it is often the case that the typos (mispellings) are not from my translation, but are direct quotes from the text in game. That is, the devs and the game has the typo/mispelling not me. Do we want to "fix" the errors we see in game with how spelling and grammar should be or leave it as it is in the game?
I think I left the npc's dialogues as they were but just made the quest descriptions a rough idea of what was going on rather than an exact copy of what was ingame. The problem is that at the moment we can't actually even *see* some of the text and I thought it didn't give a very good impression of the game or the wiki. I should have asked before doing that, sorry. We can leave it exactly as it is ingame if you'd prefer we did it that way. Chances are we're going to have to revisit everything anyway as they change quests and descriptions over the next few months...
The things I wrote in the Description boxes are taken from the game when you open the log and read that box. So those are also as written in game. The box isn't big enough to see all the dialogue. The text inside [ ] is what I imagined makes sense, or left [ ___ ] when I didn't want to make a guess.
I've been using the Additional Information section for editorial commentary of my own observations and whatnot.
Sorry for the confusion. I don't mind editing, it's fine, I doubt the devs are going to use this to correct grammar/spelling errors anyway. I just wanted to know if we wanted to play teacher or not.
Well Luna (I think) reworded some of the descriptions by interpreting what was meant so I went and did the same for the rest of them. Going forward I'll put as much of the original text as is seen, and fill in the blanks as best as I can.
Full release is probably going to see these quests go away/change, so it's probably only really helpful for EA anyway... but we'll see.
I can see us redoing the quest pages at least once as the developers change things around so whatever method we use right now probably isn't too important. But, once the storyline and quests are reasonably stable I think we'd be better off using categories to highlight articles that need attention.
I created a couple of hidden categories for that purpose (hidden as in they don't appear on the articles normal category list). We can review the categories (and even if we want to use them) as we go on. There is a reason most wiki's use them for admin purposes though...
The ones I've created are:
